Share the most significant thing that happened to you and your work/studio practice in 2022?
I couldn't find much time to work in my studio. This was important because I needed to realize how central making is to my basic well being. I am a maker. Realizing this made me a better advocate for my time and my ability to make. Balance is important.
In an alternate life, what would you be doing?
Delivering babies. I would want to be a part of ushering new promising lives into the world. Or, swimming as an Orca with my pod family.
In an emergency, where you can only save one ceramic object- what piece do you rescue and why?
A sculpture I made in grad school of a woman, half rendered, in a crouched position. I would rescue this piece because it was a breakthrough moment for me. I feel like she will always remind me that when you feel stagnant, stick with it because stagnation is not permeant and you'll emerge on the other side better for it.
