In an alternate life, what would you be doing?
I would be a baker, or possibly studying art history.
Share the most significant thing that happened to you and your work/studio practice in 2024?
I went up for Full Professor. I taught a ceramics workshop in Jamaica with the fabulous Suze Lindsay, Doug Casebeer and David Pinto.
What big plans do you have for 2025?
I'll be teaching a ceramics workshop at La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany this coming Summer. We are hiring a new colleague in our Ceramics program at UNL.
Did you recently break something from your ceramic/pottery collection, if so what was it and what memories/associations/artist did that object hold for you?
I broke my favorite tiny bird-shaped dish with feet made by Suze Lindsay. I used it every day to hold my daily meds/vitamins. Suze and I went to grad school together over 30 years ago, and we have taught workshops together every other summer for over ten years.
What dream residency (either real or fantasy) would you like to attend?
The Shigaraki Ceramics Cultural Park Artist in Residence, or the Mudhouse Residency in Crete

Deep Dish Spinach Quiche baked in a pie plate made by potter Kenny Henderson, who makes historical reproduction pottery based on early American Redware.
