In an emergency, where you can only save one ceramic object- what piece do you rescue?

Why clay?
Clay is an amorphous, chameleon material. It's also cheap and recyclable. As a poor student, clay was such a forgiving and attainable material (compared to, say, photo paper at $1.00 a one-use sheet) that it gave me permission to try things that might fail. I also love that once fired, it's your forever (as long as you don't drop it). I also love fabric, and the more you wear something, the sooner it wears out. Clay is functional, and it lasts.
