In an emergency, where you can only save one ceramic object- what piece do you rescue and why?
I have a teapot that my Mennonite great-great-grandmother bought. When you have old ceramic things like that you know it's survived because of a long chain of care, people protecting and cherishing an object (including my sister-in-law who carried it, wrapped in her swimsuit, on her lap on a flight from Manitoba). Wouldn't want to be the one to break the chain.
What dream residency would you like to attend?
I'd like to be artist in residence at an entomology lab or library.
